Job Opening, Lawn/Tree Care Technician

Lawn/Tree Technician Job Description   $12.00 to 15.00/hour depending on related experience 

Benefits include paid leave after 90 day probationary period , 3 paid holidays per season.  Position is April thru October

Essential functions of the job:
*Deliver outstanding customer service in order to maintain/ sustain customer retention levels
*Maintaining appropriate inventory levels on the truck
*Assure proper chemical usage and storage for applications
*Timely resolution of all customer service standards (call logs, service calls, etc)
*Educate our customers on the service that was used on their property through invoice notes and collateral materials
*General vehicle and equipment maintenance, safety and upkeep
*Safely operating company vehicle with valid driver’s license
*Providing clear and concise notes for the customer
*Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Responsibilities include :

Tree & Shrub ID/ Lawn types ID

Tree & Shrub/Lawn Insect & Disease Identification

Integrated pest management on Trees & Shrubs/lawns using spray, spreading and injection tools

Working with clients to find a solution (when necessary)

High School Diploma (or GED)

Valid Clean Driver’s License.

Ability to work in a team environment

Ability to work in a results-oriented environment.

Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds multiple times per day.

Able and willing to work in various weather conditions.

As a lawn and tree care professional, you will be responsible to service customer lawns and trees in your route as you apply fertilizer, treat weeds, and perform other professional applications while ensuring amazing customer service. You may also be responsible for accurately measuring lawns, providing quotes and / or lawn analysis, and making field sales.


Daily tasks:

1. Daily preparation of trucks, equipment, and inventory

• Report on time at regular start time to prepare/review the day’s work with your manager.

• Load all tools, gas, and other necessary equipment/materials.  Secure all equipment safely.

• Check truck oil, fluids, tire pressure, proper trailer connection, and all lights are in working condition.

2. Perform landscape maintenance tasks on client’s properties.

• Work in conjunction with the manager to ensure the work contracted is implemented efficiently and according to the contracted specifications.

• Perform all tasks of operations for services that have been assigned to you including but not limited to operating and recording information on electronic tablets, at the time of service.

• Receive openly “on the job” training safety, equipment, technique, etc.

• Proper use of safety equipment and Personal Protective Equipment and practices of the crew.

• Address questions or concerns with the clients if approached.  Communicate customer’s questions with the manager.

3. End of the day duties.

• Complete time sheet.  Complete all job site application records and yellow bid sheet copies with documentation for confirmation or not confirmed and turn them in.

• Review the whole week’s jobs and prepare for the next day’s jobs.

• Unload/load equipment and material, clean out truck/trailer by removing trash, debris, etc. daily.

• Wash dirty equipment and return to storage location.  Report damaged or broken equipment to your manager immediately to get parts on order.

• Fill truck, equipment, and cans with gas in preparation for the next day (or as necessary).

4. Strict adherence to company’s employee manual & procedures in required from all employees.

Performance skills and qualifications: 

• Ability to lift 50 lbs. + consistently throughout the day.

• High attention to detail…the customer doesn’t see what we do, they see what we don’t do that they paid for.

• High ability to deal with ambiguity in a high stress environment while keeping your composure on and off the job.

• Available to work a varied schedule (including Saturdays) in all adverse weather conditions.

• Stoop, stand and bend for 10 hours or more a day.

• Strong Knowledge of grass required.  Study daily if not experienced in all areas on grass recommendations.

• Ability to read & write English, including maps & diagrams.

• Drug free work environment.
