Micro-Injection

Micro-Injection in trees is a technique that injects small amounts of treatment products into the sapwood or cambial tissue through small holes drilled into the base of the tree. This is the safest and most environmentally friendly treatment method for trees because there are no hazards presented to groundwater, birds, wildlife, people or friendly insects such as ladybugs and honey bees.

The length of time that the treatment will control insects depends on the product being used and what the tree is being treated for. In many situations this may be the only effective way to treat some trees with certain pests like bronze birch borers and poplar borers in aspen, poplars, cottonwoods and willows.
